Well 2024, you’ve been… interesting, at least. As the sun sets on this past year (at ~4:00 p.m. if you’re in the Northwest ), we’re taking a moment to look back at some of the year’s most popular Getting Smart content.
We kicked off this year with our annual What’s Next in Learning Town Hall, where we predicted that the following five trends would be top of mind in 2024:
AI As Learning Partner
Portraits That Align & Inspire
Work That Matters
Growing Staff
New Models in Networks
Largely, we were barking up the right tree. AI was a major part of every headline (and as you’ll see below, comprised the bulk of our most clickable content). Additionally, Portrait of a Graduate and Learner Records began to emerge in states and districts across the country, while a continued focus on pathways swept the nation, and the talent pipeline and methodologies continued to diversify to meet demand and supply.
Most of these trends will continue into the next year and likely accelerate. We will definitely continue to cover these, but we’re going to add some additional trends in learning (and beyond). If you want to be a part of next year’s conversation, be sure to register for our 2025 What’s Next in Learning Town Hall on January 16 at 12 PT where we will discuss how to lead in a year of hyperchange.
This year we dove deeper into our microschool research, released a handful of publications (below) and launched the Horizon Three (H3) series, which you should definitely check out if you haven’t been reading along! Without further ado, below is some of the content that we put out this year that resonated the most with you all. Thanks to our amazing guest authors, partners and community – we couldn’t do it without you!
